What is
Sport Massage?
Sport Massge is the application of specific and treatment oriented massage techniques to an athlete with the purpose of enhancing the athlete’s preparation for, or recovery from the physical demands of training or competition.

Sport Massage Treatment
A CSMTA Sport Fellow candidate or CSMTA Sport Fellow provides specific pre-event, inter-event, post-event and restoration/training massage techniques. This primarily occurs on-site at an event or at the host or team health care clinic.
Members of the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA) deliver many benefits to local teams, clubs and individual athletes.
Members who earn the CSMTA(Sp.F) designation must acquire at least 500 hours working on site with teams as well as at sporting events. After this they need to pass a written exam and three hour oral practical exam demonstrating skills in four different scenarios.
Mike achieved this in 2012.
